So My ride home was good, its kinda odd trying to ride road at nice! you can over ride your lights quickly! The descents at 40+ mph yea I was guessing hoping there were no pot holes! Good ride def a fun route and will be doing this route more often esp when day light savings starts again! Activity

Bike to work...
Well road into work today, it was cold.... 38F at my house when I left. Only thing that really bugged me was my toes.... Def time for booties. Ride was slow I didn't put forth that much of an effort. First ride in over 2 weeks and didn't wanna be wiped at work. Gonna take a longer way home that will be harder and mainly down hill :) But wanna get those last few miles in before the new year, more after work. Activity

Another great after work ride! Unlike last year I'm really liking this night riding thing! Although it was cold! I no I'm a wuss but it was def down in the low 40's in the canyons and I need some toe warmers as my toes were frozen! Off to Boston but I think I'll get another ride in before New years! Activity

PCH pre-xmas ride
Great ride today, me an garey set out on what was my longest (time wise) ride of the year. No crazy efforts just out for fun. It was cool out started in the low 60's ended into a nasty headwind in the low 50's.... Turned inland up in carlsbad and what do we see? Snow capped mountains (palomar ect) in the distance as last night snwo came down to 3,000 feet or so! Was very cool! Saw some new stuff up in carlsbad never riden those areas so that was fun also. Good stuff esp since I had not riden the road bike in over a month! damn daylight savings.... Activity

Wednesday night ride
Fun relaxed ride last night. We met up with a few people but they made me feel like lance armstrong, I mean me and joe weren't riding that fast (hence the 146 avg hr) but these guys weren't hanging...... So we headed up the powerlines, thru the intestines, down Wyamaya and back up to the car. Good ride prob not getting anymore rides in this week as its "suppose" to rain from tonight thru sunday..... but we'll see Activity

Man what a bad ride.... I wasn't really feeling it today, started out ok.... was slow the whole time I def need to get my confidence up when riding at night if I'm gonna race in a 24hr race! Right when I was feeling ok and got a rhythm going I lowsided on the inside of a turn and my foot wouldn't come out of the pedal so I slide on top of my knee/leg..... I walked the ensuing climb.... then on the last up and down I couldn't get my foot out again and fell tossed the bike thru a tantrum like a little 12yr with a skinned knee..... ah well finished up and had the whole drive home to think about how much of a douch I was..... gearing up and gonna try and have fun tomorrow night bounce back and enjoy myself :) Activity

San Jacinto Hike
Well here it is my San Jacinto report lots of data to sift thru....
Here we go, started with meeting everyone at the base of the Palm Springs Tramway we packed up the gear and hit the road. Ride up in the Tram
After settling in for a few mins up top 8,516ft we got moving to the camp at round valley. Temps were in the 40's-30's and it was calm and clear. The Hike to Round valley was a decent work out as my pack was heavy (well heavy for me) ~2.5 miles and we were there.
We found a good spot and setup camp. As the sun dropped the temps did also and my pansy socal ass was getting cold. So to make dinner we set off on a little night time water run (I only ran my gps cause I didn't wanna get last but I'll share all data I have :)
After our little jont we made a warm dinner, thanks to matt I kicked back a couple shots of Jamisons to warm up. The moon was insane and we went off for a little night walk to check things out very cool (and the temps were also) but the walk warmed me up and it was time to head to bed. With a Nalgene of boiling water at the base of my sleeping bag I went off to sleep.... the damn moon was so bright I kept thinking it was the sun coming up thru out the night but I slept ok....
Next day ~6:30am got up and cooked a bit of oatmeal and set off for the summit.
Was a very cool pretty easy climb to the top, the altitude was noticable but not bad. The views from the top were awsome you could see the pacific ocean and the salton sea! the windmills from the palm springs wind farm looked like nothing more than rows of dots on the ground below.
I was pretty damn tired and in the pics you will see at this point I packed up camp and pasted out for about 20mins of so as everyone packed thier stuff. We were off to head back to the tram!
The hike back was pretty easy except the damn little climb to the tram station at the end that did me in!
We had a beer (best $8 beer I ever drank) toasted to a good weekend and headed home a great trip!
everyones pics consolidated in one gallery here (157 pics :) )
Oh and one more thing....."Who open da winda...? I don't wanda winda open!"

A nice pre-Thanksgiving stuff myself with insane amounts of Tofurkey tomorrow. Took it pretty easy still def adjusting to night riding makes the decents so much harder! Maybe a ride tomorrow while Kerin runs her 10K. but if not I'll be posting up our Hike to the peak of San Jacinto Sunday night/Monday am Activity

12hrs of Temecula
Ok the 12hrs of Temecula is done and may I say this was harder than I thought! But it was a damn fun. We started out with a quick tune and pack Thursday night. Friday we headed up to the campsite and set up. Early Saturday (6am) we reg’d under the name “The Friggin Bone Heads” 9am Matt was off for the first lap! He pulled down a 1:08 lap and we were in great shape! Garey went 2nd and thru down a sub 1hr lap (~57mins?) I was up next and didn’t feel good from the start (First lesson learned bring a road bike and trainer to warm up and I think my adrenaline got the best of me as my HR was in the 180’s whole lap!) Stats for my first lap, 1:13:19 avg HR 183! Max Hr 193, calories burned 1434….. yea I went out way to hard…. This course had NO flats you were either going up or going down I mean look at the topo! ~10miles 1500’ vert no flats…. I was disappointed and tired…. Joe was up next and rocked out a ~1:08! Good work! Matt went out and bettered his first lap and Garey then turned in another sub 1hr lap. My second lap was up and I was tired but wanted to do good! I started out slower and didn’t peg the HR right off the bat, I was a couple minutes up at the half way point but wasn’t feeling the second climb so I dialed it back to save some for the decent (so I could at least enjoy it) I walked that whole climb (it was bascilly designed as a 80% walk climb it was named “burning calves”) I ripped the decent and had way more fun but turned in a 1:18:36 avg HR 179, Max HR 193, 1456 calories. Joe took the hand off for our last lap as we were all tired and DONE! He did the only lap in the dark out of all of us! Good times! Much harder than I thought it would be but very fun! Activity

Wow we flew today! had to stop 2X to fix my seat (new seatpost needed adj) but other than that we didn't really stop (at least I didn't) Start to finish Garey was pounding the pedals! we didn't stop at the parking lot 3/4 up the main climb we hammered it out and kept going till we hit the top paused for a min and kept at it..... This time was via my GPS (which I started a few mins before we left) so in reality we did it in about 1:45! which if I look back into my data is out of the 7 rides I did there this year that was the fastest by 17 mins!!!! Nice couple mtb rides this week Tuesday/Thursday then the 12 hr race this weekend! Activity
