Another great Noble run! I was a bit slower on the technical stuff here and there but we didn't male any real stops so it turned out to be a very quick run down. Jeff took a pretty nice digger at the top so we were kinda just trying to get out before his arm gave out. I actually past 3 people on bikes on the desert climb! well they were dead form the heat as it was ~100F in that section.... Fun as always!

This finished up June and puts me over 1300 miles for the year with over half of those being MTB miles! I'd say I'm pretty much on track as July, Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov should be pretty similar months as far as mileage with a drop off in Dec.... Its going to be close! we'll see if I hit my goal.....

Another one for the record books :) 2.5 hr post work ride! was closer to 3hrs in duration as there was a lengthy flat change in the middle.

We got back to the lot in full dark after 8:30pm... Ride started well I was feeling ok, but as I started the main climb up cobles I could feel that I was not that fast today.

Felt ok just the fitness is falling off a but from the vacation and the 60 miles the previous 2 days on the road. Felt quick and smooth thru the tunnels and back down Cobles, but again on that return section after the water fall I can usually turn on the jets and drop people but I was the one getting dropped this time, granted it was by a pretty fast guy but he had my number that night!

I dabbed on the goat climb in the one really hard spot man my legs were pretty tired... Great ride more riding comin!

Perfect weather for a ride home :)

Man that climb to start the ride is tuff! I hit 185HR 8minutes into my ride....

But I felt pretty good and the pedals were turning over faster I'm feeling like I'm getting back into things. Ride home technically has less climbing but the climbs are steeper and i hit a few more lights and still got home a few seconds faster than I rode in:)

But to do so I had to crank out big ring for the last 3 miles maxed out!

Cloudy cool am, so I got to use my new Pearl Izumi vest I bought while on vacation next week :) Thing is great! fit is good, its comfy, not too hot basically blocks the wind and lets heat radiate off my back, we'll see how well it packs on my way home as it will be sunny then.

Took a new route thur Claremont mesa instead of heading thru tecelote canyon.... I guess its cheating a bit but hell it was nice not to start the day with a huge climb! felt good, not a crazy pace but put in a little effort. Looking forward to the ride home already :)

My appitiente isn't back yet... only ate 2 fig bars and a peace after my ride... My weight is more stable than I thought it would be after vacation, but I still feel a bit sluggish and the lungs not totally clear. Time to put some serious time in on the bike and into the diet!

Ride home today was good. Perfect weather! was moving pretty well, man I'm faster with out a pack!

Got moving and made good time to Sorrento Valley, but I bailed on the longer ride with Joe.

After I stopped my knees hurt a bit and I wasn't tired as much as I was sore and stiff (lower back, neck ect ect) So easing back into it!

Well after a long time off the bike I got back to it! Road from Sorrento Valley into work with a FULL pack! weighed it before I left 15lbs! that was clothes and food for 2 full days.

The bag is braking in and getting even more comfortable there is no way I could have carried all that in my Bailey bag!

I wasn't moving all that fast, though I did stay in my middle ring for the 2 main climbs. The weight on my back was making my hip bones (ass) hurt from the added pressure on there.

The final little climb I was SLOW total granny gear.... but a good start to get back on the groove.

Hit up the Massabesic trails near manchvegas and much like vermont sooooo much fun! not a ton of climbing but lots of fun and tight tight single track!

Post work ride for joe so we hit the trails at like 6:30pm and did about 8 miles of twisty ripping single track! I wish I knew that stuff was there years ago, would have ridden it when I was living there!

NEK trails

So after flying out of SD on the redeye I landed, got breakfast and then got my rental car and loaded up the gear and headed to my mom's house.

Took a 2hr nap and built my indy fab. My bike case is the shit! fit all my gear and my bike! Then it was up to Manchvegas to grab Joe.

From there it was up to VT. We crashed in a little hotel and got up early fearing that thunderstorms would hit in the afternoon.

WOW!......WOW! these trails are fun! Started out with a short road climb that for some reason made me feel like crap.... think it was the lack of sleep and the humidity. But after getting to the top we hit the trails, zigging and zagging, crossing back over itself so much fun! real dirt and roots that ment real traction unlike socal!

Trails like Tap N' Die and Worth it so much fun! My GPS crapped out pretty much 1/2 way thru the ride we ended up riding for almost 4hrs! and only did like 25% of the trails.....

I'll be back next year!

Pics and video to be up soon!

Great ride up here in the north of SD. Up here in business and brought the road bike along :)

Forgot my baggies so I did the ride all spandex uber roadie style.... I was self conscience but to tell you the truth is was way more comfortable..... I just need to loose 10 lbs....

So off to the north I went from the Hotel, gradual climb then I made my way west to the PCH along what was really a highway...

Not the greatest but it was rush hr so the traffic was moving slower. Nice as the hiway winded thru the hills and decented onto the PCH.

The PCH thru newport beach couple tight spots as I road along parked cars hoping not to get doored but was moving well. up and down the rolling hills I turned in land and turned on the gas!

I hit this great spot along the bay here. It was basically a HUGE bike path with a sick tail wind and I head of steam I popped it up in the top ring and cranked!

I flew thru this section! Back onto the main roads and back to the hotel :) Fun ride esp in a place I don't get to ride much!

Great ride around san diego bay! Left my house ~3pm with the goal of grabing the 6:30pm ferry back to SD from Coranado.

Down around the bay I was feeling good, it was odd getting used to my new Chrome Backbone bag packed with some food, extra water, sandles, a hat, a magazine for the boat ride, Ulock, iphone, wallet and keys.

I hit the Pacific hiway and made my way to the ferry ticket office. I bought my ticket early as if I just made the boat then I'd have my ticket.

Down thru National City this ride is insanely flat. So my legs felt well and the cross wind wasn't bad.

I got to IB in ~1:20 and looked at my watch and figured I could make the 5:30 ferry if I moved, so I hit the gas and pushed pretty hard up the strand thru a nasty cross/headwind.

But I cruised out past the golf course and to Coranado in just under 2hrs! nice! chilled on the beach before the ferry came, hitched a ride across the bay.

Then back up the Pacific hiway and then up Balboa to my house, I took it pretty easy on the climb. Great ride! fun times!

Great casual lunch ride! we cruised out of work and right up to the Scripps Firehouse. I felt good from the start and was moving pretty good, went pretty hard up the first section and hid under some trees waiting for the guys. Up the next section I cruised easy tempo and hammered pretty well up the final part. We took an easy pace to the lake and around it. Down to Carrol canyon road and back to work. i love lunch rides.

Great thursday night ride! We headed out with a large group and made our way to the water fall. I felt good, but I can def feel myself falling off from where I was a month ago.... But I haven't been training that hard....

We climbed Cobles (one thing that is amazing is I used to think that was a hard climb.... and now its just a bump in the road :)

Over to the Tunnels and down rocking horse, I still am only hitting the first Jump need to sack up and start hitting the rest! we went back up out of the tunnels and did a lill riding up top, then down the shits and ripped it up on the way back to wagon wheel.

We were moving and I was going at a race pace. Good stuff, then I did it! I cleared the Goat CLIMB!!!!!!! Good times!

So with everyone else out I had an easy solo ride back to Sorrento Valley. I was just gonna go at my own pace and just enjoy the ride.
The cruise out to Camino Del Sur no real effort and started heading up to San Digieto road, I kept a nice pace thru that small climb and worked on my pedal stroke and cadence.

The decent down San Digieto I kept it in my big ring the whole way and made my way down to the horse training area. That section was much tougher with out having others to take turns up front! But I tried to keep the speed up and went past the Polo Fields feeling good.

Up the Via de Lavia climb up to the PCH and then thru Delmar. I felt good and was still keeping the speed moderate. I stopped for a moment to take a pic before I headed up Torrey Pines. I didn't scream up Torrey Pines, but I kept a moderate tempo. Down Gennesee and the 5 and back to the car a great Commute!

My Stomach was a mess this am I have been eating out WAY too much! so time to calm that down....

Got moving and was a bit sluggish but not bad. cruised at a decent pace and then I hit the first climb.

I saw a guy way up in the distance and thought maybe I can catch him..... I moved the tempo up and saw that I was making little progress so instead of popping I kept the high tempo and though I'll catch him on the 2nd climb. I felt ok and didn't scream up to camino del sur.

Got across camino del sur and picked it up. I then hit the main black mnt climb and picked it up again. Middle ring 2nd and 3rd cog! I cruised up not 100% but 90% or so. I didn't catch him :( but he had to pause at the light and with the help of traffic I did catch him and passed him :) That hurt.

Up the next quick steep climb I was spent granny geared it up and across the 15 and to work. 6 mins faster than last week!
