ATT never lets you down! We started off from the car and I wasn't feeling that great. But about half way up I started to feel good and the legs were pumpin I cleaned the whole way up to the first look out I think that is a first!

I didn't clean the rest of the way up I dabbed 1 time... First shot down Eco challenge was sick I hit the bigger side of the double drop and cleared everything even hitting the little jumps on the flat sections. We climbed back up again and this time the heat got to me a bit I felt like I was over heating and the zip was zapped from my legs....

Down we went again and Joe took some pics we sessioned a couple drops then I got a flat... damn tubes....I try to fix and pitch the tube....try again good, I go back up ride the drop and BAM 3rd flat on the same section.......we waste 20 mins there and then fly down the rest...

I was a little sketch but I hit every little stunt on the side of the trail including the small step up rock on the big wall ride :) My climbing was a 6 out of 10 but my tech was a 8 out of 10 today.

Pics from Joe today

Another great lunch ride! The HR monitor is still on the fritz... garmin 305 soon? who knows... But we rode out the 56 and did hill top park climb, black mnt park, and the xtra climb up camino del norte....

It was Rob's LT special. Lots of 15% plus sections short but grinders! I felt ok, 36/25 is tuff on those sections But I got thru it :) ATT Saturday!

Holy S that ride was only 5.68 miles! damn! there is 2 things to do on this ride, climb and decend and neither are easy. the climb is not rockin hard but def gets the heart rate up and is tech in sections.

The decent "NASCAR" is uber tech and def tricky..... We climbed up switchbacks I dabbed only 1 time! and then we rocketed down NASCAR! I only almost died 2X :) Up again this time the legs were not as quick and I Dabbed 2X but this time I was better on NASCAR and felt good on the decent! Great ride for tech skills!

wow I got Pwned today! first lunch ride back with the NGC crew and they stepped up the pace.... We did a newer loop that was cookie hill + another hill they named Monster Cookie.....

We set out and from the get go I was having alill trouble hangin on with my 46T up front. We hit the first climb and I hung in ok, we turned south and up Monster cookie. I wanted to see how I really felt and who could follow so I put in a good dig! hands in the drops sprinted it out for 30sec or so and opened up a large gap! But with 50M to go on the climb I caught a wicked stitch in my side.

I sat up and started going backwards, everyone caught me as we passed over the top and then I had a hard time hanging on as I was hurting :) oops :) We turned north and I was yo yoing off the back trying to recover from that big dig..... Up community the 2-3% grade was keeping me on the back then I lost touch and that was it... I caught on at the next light and cruised home.... Forgot what it was like to have my ass handed to me... I'll be ready for thursday :)

Now it was time for the real test of my winter fitness....

Stage 8 and the climb up Palomar mnt. by far the biggest climb I had ever thought about doing. The 13.5 mile 4500' vert would def kick my but!

We set out from Harrah's Rincon and we started climbing straight away! the first 6-7 miles were steady grades and a couple switch backs. I was feeling ok but nervous as I ddin't know what to expect from the ride and was tempering my effort.

We turned onto the South Grade and that was it up up up and away! 7 miles 21 switchbacks.... I was feeling slow but good as I cranked away in my 36/25 and the 3 guys up front took off But I was cool with riding my own pace. with a little over 5k to go I catch Joe. We rode on at a nice tempo seeing more and more people getting pumped for the riders!

including my favorite group the "ding a ling a ling" guys they didn't have cow bells so they just yelled "DING ALING ALING ALING" screaming and yelling and runnign next to us up the road :)

with 200M to go I didn't know where the road was going and joe picked up the pace but I didn't make a move but then the KOM was there and I realized I could have but it was all in fun :)

We made it to the top and it was easier then I thought it would be yea it was long.... and steep.... but I handled it well :) south grade 61:58 mins 177 avg HR

We drank a few beers (thanks to our lead moto bringing then up earlier) and the race came by and we hit the road again and RIPPED the decent.... passing motos and cars we were down south grade in 15mins! Then the race was passing by us again so we waited for the broom wagon then....

~500-1,000 roadies all decended the 76 all at once chasing the race! it was CRAZY! dangerous for sure! but so cool! Back to the car and the end of a great day!

Well with work done it was time to jump on the ATOC bandwagon again!

We drove up to Solvang for watch the ITT. Setting out from out Hotel in Buelton we road the ITT course in the am before the start.

Over into Solvang and then north in to Ballard. We made the turn at LOs Olivos and started to see fans and as we hit the climb up Ballard Canyon I was lovin it.

We got to the top and people are all in a frenzy I couldn't figure out why.... then over the crest of the climb is Popo and Lance preriding the course :) That was pretty cool to see them cruise by :)

Down the canyon and back to the hotel as it was time to get a few autographs and watch the race!

Well after a nice evening MTB ride it was my last day of work at GA.

Hit up the usual Road ride at lunch up around lake mirramar. I was testing out the tuff gears on some hills the 36/25 was a tuffy but I think it would be ok for Palomar in a few days....

Felt good, legs had snap, the lungs were so so.... around the lake and back to work it was a killer view!

Well after the trip to SAC town and the first couple stages of the ATOC I was off to try and get in some turns of the pedals...

Wednesday night but mission trails was out due to rain the day before, but the trusty Van Damn peak dries out fast! So after work I headed out to climb up and maybe explore the DH trails down.

The legs felt ok but the HR was sky high (before the battery died in my chest strap) I headed up at a medium tempo and had a pretty bad time (~20mins) but I left ok just slow. I tried a few new trails down WOW that is fun and a bit sketchy! but cool! I was down in a matter of what felt like seconds.

So I was off to climb it again with the sunsetting I turned on the lights and got to the top just in time to see the sun drop into the Pacific so cool up there.

Down the normal was as I didn't want to risk it on new tuff trails in the dark and back to the car.

I'm def not where I would like to be as far as speed but my overall fitness is ok for february.

Great ride out at Mission Trails tonight! Met up with Archie and Tom and we headed north to the 52 climb, since there is so much construction going on in mission trails Tom showed us a new climb/decent to get over to the old section we did and I cleared the uber tuff steep section :)

Damn I love the way this bike climbs. My legs were feeling ok but I def had a small pull in my quad from lifting yesterday. We made our way up the 52 section and I cleared that also! 2X in a row now :) We hit the decent and down a sketchy E-ticket... the valley was fun as always and the rock garden was a bit wet but fun!

I didn't clear S turns still need to get used to this lower bottom bracket and hitting pedals on rocks.... But we did extra credit tonight and I cleared it! that is a first!!! Like I said this bike climbs great! Tom then showed me a new fun decent and gradual climb back to the fire road and back to the car :)

Flew up to San Fran for the Breakaway from cancer ride with Big George from Highroad/Columbia. Me and Mark (aka Country) made our way down to the water front in the pre-dawn hours.

Geared up and caught a few words from the Big man before setting off :) The route was fun starting with a bit of climbing which with my new 36/25 setup was a bit tougher then usual :) we hit the coast and I got the guys to get in behind me to draft. We headed out around a really nice lake and thru a ritzy golf course. @ 1hr we saw Big George and the first wave coming back at us. We wound thru a really nice park and back across the city and hit one more quick climb.

Fun times! I convinced Mark to since we were all dressed up with nowhere to go that we ride out to Sausilito and take the ferry back. Over the Golden gate we went and down into Sausilito and grabbed breakfast and coffee in a nice lill shop before catching the ferry back across the bay.

Big thanks

Big thanks to crank brothers! I emailed asking where I could find
cleat shims next thing I know they are at my door! Great customer
service!

First lunch MTB of the year and I not sure if I wanted to put myself in a pain cave.... I did normal warm up 11mins then I hit it and cleared EVERYTHING with athourity! this new bike climbs so well on tech stuff! But my time was so so 17:41 avg 179... the effort was there but the legs just don't have the snap yet but its early in the season so we'll see again in 4 weeks or so. Down I was slow as I think my headset was loose and was clicking I stopped a couple times to check, but thru the rocky sections I totally floated! it was sick! Good ride more wark to be done!

great view from top of the climb and yes that blue is the pacific ocean :)

First road ride of '09 on my new road wheels :) Cruised on down to the trek store to shake hands with Taylor Phinney and Ben King of the livestrong U23 development team. Chill cruise didn't wear a HR monitor.

I then took a lill tour of linda vista down past USD and around the bay. I made quick work of the climb up balboa to Clairemont Mesa (much faster then I thought I would but no mo granny gear means no other choice :) Fun ride looking forward to day lights saving to get more road rides in!
