So after a late start getting out of work me and Jeff did a 90% night ride.... Def wanted to get in more night riding but this one was one of the creepiest on record :)

We started out heading thru Mission Gorge to the grass lands and up spring, once in the thick of it the damn coyotes were howling like mad... not just one or two chatting they were all about as we rode down the trail seemed like they were warning each other about something (I was hoping about us not a mnt lion or anything) At first I just yelled back and told them to shut it :) but after the 5 or 6th one I got a bit nervous :) (I'm such a wuss and it gets worse)
We were riding at a fun pace and headed up the rusty barrel trail we got up that (I dabbed a couple times man it is hard to pick good lines at night)

Then the fire road to the very top is all washed out so I walked most of that also. Up top we had a HUGE deer cross in front of us, yea glad we weren't on a decent going 25mph+ as that would have been a knock out blow.... Jeff rocked it out down that first section of Oak (which I could barely walk down as usual man I HATE uber loose steep stuff)

I congrad him and we start to head off down oak when I freak like a little girl and stop as I see the Biggest rattler I have EVER seen in person..... I could only see the back half of him on the trail but he was thicker around than my ARM! (turns out as we watched him head off into the brush he just ate so I saw the FAT part and freaked out. he was still a 4 footer and 3" around I was happy to get out of there :)

I rode slow the rest of the way down Oak scanning the edge of the trail for more wild life. Rats, wierd ground birds, and general stuff was everywhere.....

Which is a bad idea when night riding as it hard enough to see the trail never mind watching the side... hence I was slow.... Up the switch backs I did.... ok I dabbed 3 times (thos lefts are always hard) but the night made it very hard to get the lines right. I was ok with the way I did as I was gaining back that make what line you have work night ride thing to over come again. Down rusty barrerl I was a bit slow (compared to day) but having fun and relaxed.

We then headed up the last single track section and back to the car.

Another Ride in the books and a sketch one for the ages....
